Vegetables

Even a century ago, our mothers were hawking at us to eat our greens. Turns out, our mothers were even smarter than we thought! Science and nutritional research has shown again and again just how important vegetables are for our health and well-being. They’re loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, rich in fibre and complex carbohydrates, and low in fat and sodium. To top it off, they’re also delicious! If you’re finding it difficult to incorporate more vegetables in your life, try switching things up by sampling a new veggie that you haven’t tried before. Lastly, a little bit of dip can go a long way to make veggies more appetizing while still retaining their wholesome goodness.

Watermelon

Although it may appear to just be sugary water, watermelon actually has numerous health benefits and it packed with nutrients. It’s high in fibre, making it easy on your digestive system. As the name implies, watermelon is a great source of electrolytes and fluids, helping to keep you hydrated. Like vegetables, watermelon is also packed with antioxidants, helping to neutralize free oxygen radicals that can damage your genetic information. Finally, it’s a great way to cool off on a hot summer day, something that we can all appreciate!

Infused Water

Drinking your daily recommended amount of water will provide you with numerous health benefits. If you find it difficult remembering to stay hydrated, you may want to give infused water a try. Adding fresh fruit or herbs to your water is a great way to enhance its taste. Oranges, mint, honeydew melons, and summer berries are just some examples of what you can use. Best of all, infusing your water with extracts and juices will also allow you to take in their nutrients and antioxidants. What an easy way to stay hydrated and healthy!
